Datamine Computer Forensics
Computer Forensics is the scientific process of acquiring, protecting, analyzing and producing electronic evidence from all types of electronic storage media.
Since electronic discovery spoliation - i.e. spoilization – has already become a factor in cases such as Zubalake v. UBS Warburg, and can occur by something as simple as turning the computer on or off, it's vital to your case to choose a qualified CCE technician to handle this process from start to finish.
Progressive Imaging and Consulting and DATAMINE FORENSICS have processed valuable data from paper, microfilm, electronic images and videotaped depositions since 1994. We're CCE certified by the ISFCE (International Society of forensic computer examiners), and have 17 years experience handling important data for our clients.
Document Management: Acquisition
Electronic evidence can be acquired from many sources, including floppy disk, zip disk, hard drive, tape, CD or DVD. Forensically recoverable data includes text documents, images, spreadsheets, database files, email, deleted email and file
back-ups.
DATAMINE FORENSICS will acquire your data with an absolute guarantee that your data will be harvested without alteration to files or file information. We know that every effort after this point, whether employment, product, or criminal in nature, depends on data that will stand the scrutiny of the courts and the attacks of your opponents.
Computer forensic: chain of custody protection
Chain of custody is a detailed accounting of each document's location from the beginning of a project until the end. Mishandling of evidence (including electronic evidence) causes a chain of custody failure, which may result in the loss of your case.
Destruction, alteration, or failure to preserve electronic evidence during an investigation is called spoliation. The term applies to data currently in evidence as well as data that may become evidence at a later date.
In order to preserve evidence chain of custody, copies of your storage media will be placed and remain in our fireproof lockup. Proper paperwork will document every move from acquisition through each trip out of lock-up and back, until the last byte of your data has been documented, extracted, and analyzed. You can be certain: data that's important to you is important to us.
Concordance, Summation – Native File Reviews
In the world of large volume litigation support, it becomes especially important to assimilate electronic documents into a database system. How else will your team be able to respond to requests or apply new data to your case?
We'll use a detailed, methodical approach to retrieve all pertinent data, including files and descriptors. Our forensics work flows directly from analysis to Concordance, Summation, or another database of your choosing, so that you can store, organize and query large amounts of data. No other vendor is needed. We're on the job.
